8 Month Update!

I can't believe that I am writing Henley's 8 month update! I'll admit the first 6 months went by pretty slow, but it feels like he just turned 6 months. I've heard from multiple people that the time flies faster once your baby is on the move. I can totally understand already. I love this age though! He is very social and fun to play with. Even a simple grocery run can take hours because everybody wants to stop and play with him.

8 Months

  • Weighing in at about 20 pounds according to our home scale. We will get the official # at our next appointment at 9 months.
  •  Still no full on crawling, but he is getting up on all fours and starting to move.
  •  He can pull himself up and stand next to the couch. I was totally not expecting this since I thought crawling came first. I am not too surprised because he has always wanted to stand, even at 3 months.
  •  He is just so smiley! He smiles at everyone (including dogs) and people love it.
  •  3 teeth
  •  Still eating like a monster! His favorite foods are scrambled eggs, sweet potato and beans. He will pretty much eat whatever we are eating. He is getting so good at chewing and moderating what he shoves in his mouth. He also still nurses like crazy! If we are out, he will nurse every 2-3 hours but at home he is on the boob at least once an hour. haha
  •  The Babbling! He will just sit and talk to himself forever. I try and get the camera out but once he sees it he stops talking.
  • He is taking around 2-3 naps mostly in the car and in the bed! Yay!

Learning about beer at Stone

He just started reaching up for you when you go to pick him up. Alex LOVES this. My favorite time of the day is waking up next to him. He rolls towards me and starts babbling and touching my face to wake me up. I can't help but wake up smiling. He also loves to swim. We have been taking him at least once a week. He starts to kick before his feet even touch the water. The other kids in our complex are in love with him and are always waiting outside our door whenever I take Henley out.
He loves his daddy!

First taste of Saag Paneer at the farmers market. He loved it!
There it is. He is such a big boy already.  I am so happy to be his mom, and I can't believe I get to be with this little man for the rest of my life. We had a busy month last month, so I'll try and make a post about those adventures soon. This weekend is Alex's birthday so we are planning on going to craft fair, having a picnic and playing at a local splash pad.
