17 weeks and all alone!

Hey all!

So at lot has changed since we last did a blog post. Most of you know what's been going on, but may not know the full story. As many of you know, we have been hoping to be able to move back home before this little baby gets here. As much as we love Hawaii, it is just not home. We don't have the same support system out here and even though my job is great, I don't have a lot of flexibility with taking time off. I gave Alex the daunting task of looking for a job back in California. We had been pretty stressed out about it because we knew after a certain point in the pregnancy, it wouldn't make sense to try and move.

All of our wishing and hoping paid off and Alex got an offer for a job! More details on that to follow. As soon as we made the decision to take it, we were in full blown moving mode.We listed everything on Craigslist, booked our plane tickets and started making arrangements to crash with our parents until we can find our own place. Alex had to start his job in 2 weeks. I decided to stay here in Hawaii at least until Alex started his job and decided that he liked it. So, Alex left a couple weeks ago and this place is pretty much empty. I did not want to be left with anything since I am not supposed to be doing any heavy lifting and it's just a pain. :)

I gave my 2 weeks notice at work a week ago, and I officially fly out on June 8th! I still have a bunch of loose ends to tie up but Alex took care of most of it before he left. My hero! One big step that I took was selling my Scion. :( I bought that car when I was 18 and it's been with me this whole time. We decided to keep the Kia since it's more of a family car, although I don't know if Alex digs the red color. :)

Tegan left with Alex and she is loving being back with other dogs at my parents house. Alex was worried about Tegan forgetting about him with all the other dogs and people around, but he quickly learned that she's a daddy's girl and always will be.

As for me, I am all alone but strangely enjoying the peace and quiet. I am so used to a little dog following me everywhere so it's kinda nice to just do what I want. I was also able to stock the fridge with tasty snacks without worrying if they would still be there when I got home. :) It is a bit of a bummer that Alex isn't here since I feel a lot of changes happening with me this week in terms of the baby. My belly is getting a little bigger and a little harder. My midwife said that I may be feeling a kick any day now! My checkup last week went really well. The baby's heartbeat is still 160 bpm, which many people think that high of a heartbeat means it's a girl?? Well we will see in a  week! I have my ultrasound for June 5th but I am going to try and get the sex in an envelope and open it with Alex when I get home on the 8th. My parents have also planned a BBQ at their house on the 9th, so hopefully we can share the good news to everybody then.

Alright well I just wanted to do a quick update and I can't wait to see all you California people soon and for everybody else, we will at least be on the mainland so road trip!
Tegan about to get taken away for her flight. Not a happy dog.
Me at 16 weeks. I think I see a little bump there!
