Hello California!

Well we all finally made it back to California! The last week in Hawaii was pretty busy and stressful, but surprisingly everything went off without a hitch. We got everything moved out of our house, dropped our car off to be shipped and I finished my last day of work at Aulani. It is a bit surreal that I won't be going back to work there. I already miss everybody. My co-workers were all amazing. For my last hour of work, they all threw a pizza party for me and we all just "talked story." It made the whole day even harder, but that's how I will always remember my last day.

Also during my last week I went in for our 18 week ultrasound. They did all the measurements and baby looks perfect. Heartbeat was right on track and baby weighed 8 oz. and was about 6 1/2 inches long. Since Alex wasn't there I decided to get the sex in an envelope and open it with him that weekend. During the ultrasound baby had it's head mushed into my uterus so we couldn't get a great face picture but that was ok with me. It was moving its hands up and down the whole time but never moved its head. We got a great picture of baby waving its hands and boy did it have long fingers like it's mom! After the ultrasound I had scheduled a spa day since my dad had got one for me for Mother's Day. The prenatal massage was awesome. They even had this pad so that I could lay flat on my stomach, which I haven't been able to do for at least a week now! After that I went straight in for a facial and since I was so relaxed I think I felt baby move for the first time! It just felt like a muscle spasm so it's hard to tell exactly what it was. :) All in all, we both had a great exciting and relaxing day!

I made it home on a nice easy flight last Saturday morning. Alex met me at the airport and we hit up a yummy Thai place nearby. We ordered our food and before our drinks even came we had to open the envelope! We didn't waste any time. Alex opened the envelope and we found out that the baby is a.....BOY! I totally had the feeling this whole time, although I was saying I wanted a girl. Boys make me a little nervous, but I couldn't be more excited! It feels weird saying that Alex and I are going to have a son, but it feels so normal at the same time. We called around and everybody so excited. Let the shopping begin!

The next day we had a wonderful BBQ put on by my parents. So many people came by to say hi and just hang out. I love being home and just being able to be around all these amazing people! I know that Alex and I can raise a baby by ourselves, but I couldn't imagine baby boy not being around these people. He is going to be loved and spoiled by so many people!

The last piece of interesting news is that Alex got a job that he applied for in LA! He applied for this job when we were still in HI, and it just took this long to get the offer. He starts the job July 1st, so we will be moving to the San Fernando Valley within the next few weeks! I have never been to that area so we have some exploring to do!

That's it for now!
